What Does Home Mean To You?
Sometimes back in 2018 when I was man-down, you know, broke, depressed and lonely, my dad suggested that I move back home to get myself together. Long story short, I did not move but I did adjust my life a little to fit my situation at that time. Also, I took up the challenge. One day I want to be in a position to tell my children that they always have a place to go back to when life screws them over. So, I can not lose my focus, I have to keep grinding, I need to build a safe haven for my children.

So what exactly is home? People have different definitions of it, It is a place where the family lives. A place where your bed, kitchen, and the sofa is at. For many people, it is a place where you are most comfortable. Where you are free to express yourself and a place with no judgment. As for me, the latter is my definition of a home. Hence, it is not necessarily a house.
Now imagine, finding all those definitions of a home in one place? I mean, family, furniture, and comfort. The world can be such a cruel place, every day we step out we are fighting some demons. It could be, joblessness, bad jobs, bullying, school, heartbreaks, evil people and accidents. Can we just have one place in the world that could help us remember just how beautiful life is? A place that will help us with our mental health.

The kind of home I am looking to build is where I will be relaxing after a long day’s work. A place where my partner will not avoid due to constant arguments (We will have to find an arguing spot, somewhere far away from our house). Most importantly, I want to build a home where my kids will not be scared of being their true selves. I will allow them to make mistakes, learn and I will let them know that our house is their safe haven, their re-staring point, and their playground. Who is with me?
